Muhlenberg County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 81-47 loss at the hands of Butler County. While losing is never fun, Muhlenberg County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Butler County is ranked 72nd).
Butler County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty Price led the charge by scoring 30 points along with six assists and four steals. Price is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lawson Rice, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Muhlenberg County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Butler County, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Muhlenberg County will square off against Daviess County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Butler County, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
