Odyssey Institute is 2-7 against Kingman since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Odyssey Institute Minotaur will head out on the road to take on the Kingman Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Odyssey Institute suffered their biggest defeat since November 16, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-38 walloping at the hands of Parker. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Odyssey Institute in their matchups with Parker: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the defeat, Odyssey Institute had strong showings from Shelby Hunt, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four blocks, and Danica Slack, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Hunt scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, Kingman's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-22 loss at the hands of Yuma Catholic. Kingman was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
Odyssey Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kingman, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10.
Everything went Odyssey Institute's way against Kingman when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Odyssey Institute made off with a 31-11 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Odyssey Institute since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
