This season hasn't been kind to The Atkinson County Rebels, who are still winless after their tenth match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 36-15 walloping at the hands of Turner County on Friday. Atkinson County lost against Turner County in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-29 score last time.
Carlton Brannon was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 305 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'arrin Dawsey, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Atkinson County's loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.1 points per game. As for Turner County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
Atkinson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Turner County will head out on the road to face off against Portal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Portal will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
