The Pungo Christian Academy Raiders can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They really took it to Northeast Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-16 victory on the road. The win was nothing new for Pungo Christian Academy as they're now sitting on five straight.
Northeast Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Judson Smith, who scored four points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northeast Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pungo Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Northeast Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Pungo Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mattamuskeet at 7:30 p.m. Mattamuskeet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Pungo Christian Academy is ranked 255th). Northeast Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Albemarle School at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Albemarle School is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
