It was a good run, but  the Windham Whippets unfortunately witnessed the end of their  four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a  59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of New London. Windham has struggled against New London recently, as their  contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 When it comes to explaining why Windham lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Jaelize Rivera. Despite the final result, she  scored 19 points along with five  assists and five  rebounds. Rivera is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight.  Hailey Flores was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with six  assists and two  steals.
 Windham's defeat  ended  a  13-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 15-4. As for New London, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windham will  take on Griswold at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Griswold is coming into the  match with four straight  losses at home,  meaning Windham will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  win. As for New London, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Norwich Free Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. New London knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Norwich Free Academy likes a good challenge.
