The Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-37 to Old Plank Christian Academy. Covenant School of Jacksonville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Old Plank Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Old Plank Christian Academy was led to victory by Mia Wilkins and Kamryn Jenkins. Wilkins scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Jenkins dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. The match was Wilkins' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Bowdre, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Covenant School of Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant School of Jacksonville will take on University Christian on Monday. Old Plank Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eagle's View at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Eagle's View's defense has only allowed 25.1 points per game this season, so Old Plank Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Old Plank Christian Academy.
