It was a Battle of the Birds when Skyline duked it out with Ellinwood on Friday. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Thunderbirds as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Kory Anschutz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sarah Reyes and Gaby Eubank did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Eubank went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Reyes has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brylie Ackerman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
