Baseball Recap: Parker Has No Trouble Against Shades Valley

Parker made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shades Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Thundering Herd were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Mounties on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Thundering Herd, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jordan Willis made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Willis was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Conellrious Scott was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Parker is 6-2 when Scott posts two or more stolen bases, but 12-13 otherwise. Ashton Finley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Parker pushed their record up to 18-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Shades Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-23.

Looking ahead, Parker will venture away from home to square off against Midfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thundering Herd are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Shades Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
