The Pittsburg Pirates put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Liberty as Pittsburg made off with a 34-13 victory. The result was nothing new for Pittsburg, who have now won six matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Elijah Bow, who rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Marley Alcantara was another key contributor, throwing for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Ryan Mckendry and Jaxon Bell. Mckendry gained 107 total yards and a touchdown, while Bell rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Pittsburg's win was their ninth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.9 points per game. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Antioch at 1:30 p.m. on November 4th. Antioch knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pittsburg likes a good challenge. As for Liberty, they will be playing at home against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Liberty is ranked 137th).
