Fans got a thrill when Tanner Barnes and Broderick Davis connected against Salem. The longest such play in South Central this season, the connection resulted in 84 yards.
Liberty extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Houston, 66-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Eagles.
Jaelon Acklin threw for 163 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 9-15 with 1 interception.
Jansen Acklin was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 117 yards on 2 carries as Liberty fell to the Tigers. Teammate Bryan Porter added to the ground attack by rushing for 102 yards.
Leading South Central in both passing and receiving yards, the Eagles' Acklin and James Denton have proven to be a lethal combination. Acklin has thrown for 1,749 yards this season, while Denton has 49 catches for 1,008 yards. Bobby Otwell from Mountain Grove leads the league in rushing with 1,056 yards.
Acklin of the Liberty is only 94 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Acklin has rushed for 906 yards on 61 carries so far this year.
The Eagles took down the Tigers 66-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Acklin ran for 94 yards in the win.
