Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Talon Lemieux, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Akin, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Heritage Academy Gateway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, ASU Prep Poly was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt an 85-48 defeat at the hands of Heritage Academy Gateway.
Heritage Academy Gateway will have to contain Justin Hudson as he made an impact in ASU Prep Poly's last game. He went 12 of 25 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 56.3% of ASU Prep Poly's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.
ASU Prep Poly's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Heritage Academy Gateway has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.9 boards per game. However, it's not like ASU Prep Poly struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
