Kennebunk is 6-1 against Westbrook since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rams will welcome the Blue Blazes at 5:15 p.m. Kennebunk is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Kennebunk easily dispatched Deering on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Rams fell just short of Bonny Eagle by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday.
Kennebunk got a big performance out of Joe DiGiovanni, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of David Tillotson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westbrook). They came out on top against Portland by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday.
Wyatt Poitras spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Bainter-Clark, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colby Hodgkins, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Westbrook's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Kennebunk, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Westbrook's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kennebunk has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Westbrook, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Kennebunk's hitters?
Everything went Kennebunk's way against Westbrook when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Kennebunk made off with a 13-3 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Blue Blazes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
