The Amite Warriors and the Covington Lions will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Hammond scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Amite still came out on top. Amite managed a 67-63 victory over Hammond.
Meanwhile, even though East Iberville scored an imposing 65 points on Saturday, Covington still came out on top. Covington took their contest against East Iberville 73-65. The victory was just what Covington needed coming off of a 68-41 loss in their prior game.
The win got Amite back to even at 5-5. As for Covington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Amite beat Covington 59-48 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amite since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
