After soaring to 59 points the game before, the Greenwood Woodmen were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a serious blow against Jennings County, falling 65-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenwood has scored all season.
Jennings County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mollie Ernstes, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Ernstes hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Juliann Woodard, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Greenwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Jennings County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Eastern Greene at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Jennings County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. Columbus East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Jennings County is ranked eighth).
