Kinnady Branch made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olivia Tull was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Viruet, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
St. Catherine's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Trinity Episcopal came out on top against Saint Gertrude on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Titans blew past the Gators 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won five in a row.
Brooke Shelton and Cooper Beatty made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Shelton pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Beatty tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Shelton went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Beatty went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ainsley McNeer, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Cabel Berkeyheiser, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
St. Catherine's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Catherine's hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392. However, it's not like Trinity Episcopal struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
