Hardee has gone 8-1 against Fort Meade recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Hardee will venture away from home to challenge Fort Meade at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Hardee took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over Manatee. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Jodi Salas looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kirstyn Faulkner, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Marti Edenfield was another key player, scoring two runs.
Hardee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Fort Meade made easy work of Mulberry on Friday and carried off a 15-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Nakaia Pinkston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Pinkston was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Cailynn Johnson was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since March 4th. Another player making a difference was Marleigh Carroll, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Hardee picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Fort Meade, their record now sits at 11-6.
Hardee suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Fort Meade when the teams last played back in February. Can Hardee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
