Basketball Game Preview: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Delphi Community Oracles

The North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers will be taking part in a tournament against the Delphi Community Oracles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. North Montgomery is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, North Montgomery was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-37 to Crawfordsville. The game marked the Chargin' Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite their defeat, North Montgomery saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kelby Harwood, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, was perhaps the best of all. Harwood is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Claycomb, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Delphi Community played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-33 loss at the hands of Taylor. The Oracles have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

North Montgomery will have to contain Kaydn McAtee as he made an impact in Delphi Community's last game. He went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points. That's the most points McAtee has posted since back in January.

North Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Delphi Community, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North Montgomery has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 21.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
