Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Romeoville's Winning Streak

After a string of three wins, Romeoville's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a hard 61-44 fall against the Peoria Lions. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Lions are ranked fifth).

Romeoville now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Peoria, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Romeoville will challenge Kenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Romeoville likes a good challenge. As for Peoria, they will take on East Peoria at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Peoria will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Peoria surely won't give up without a fight.
