Lockhart hasn't had much luck against Liberty Hill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lockhart Lions face off against Liberty Hill Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Lockhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Lockhart is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Glenn.

Waylon Phillips was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Phillips wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Guerra, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Liberty Hill entered their tilt with Rouse on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 11-7. Liberty Hill's victory was all the more impressive since the Raiders were averaging only 3.26 runs allowed on the season.

Liberty Hill's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Lockhart, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Lockhart suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Liberty Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Lockhart avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
