Troy is 10-0 against Towanda since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Troy Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Towanda Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Troy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 matches.
Troy stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-36 win over Wellsboro on the road. Given Troy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Wellsboro is ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Towanda lost to Athens on the road by a decisive 69-52 margin on Tuesday.
Troy's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Towanda, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Everything went Troy's way against Towanda in their previous matchup back in January as Troy made off with a 70-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
