If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Meigs County. They will take on Cumberland County at home at 7:30 PM on Friday. Meigs County are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while Cumberland County are stumbling in off of six consecutive losses.
Last Friday, Meigs County put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on McMinn Central to the tune of 47-0. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-0.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-63, which was the final score in Cumberland County's tilt against Upperman. Cumberland County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-49.
Meigs County's victory lifted them to 6-0 while Cumberland County's loss dropped them down to 0-6. We'll find out if Meigs County can add another positive mark to their record or if Cumberland County can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Meigs County's step.
