The Ada-Borup Cougars put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Mahnomen/Waubun 71-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ada-Borup got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cadyn Dahl out in front who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 4 assists. The contest was Dahl's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Spaeth, who scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals.
Ada-Borup's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Ada-Borup will be home for the holidays to greet Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, they will head out on the road to face off against Badger/Greenbush-Middle River at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Badger/Greenbush-Middle River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Mahnomen/Waubun is ranked 127th).
