Clinton School waltzed into their match on Monday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They snuck past Bard with a 39-34 victory. Given Clinton School's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Bard is ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clinton School was led to victory by Kate Stanley and Sofia Tokarczyk. Stanley scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, while Tokarczyk dropped a double-double on ten points and 21 rebounds. Tokarczyk is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Kate Thaler was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 rebounds.
Clinton School is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Bard, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.
Clinton School will take on Lab Museum United at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bard, they will head out on the road to take on Baruch College at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
