Snowflake has gone a perfect 6-0 against Alchesay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lobos will host the Falcons at 3:30 p.m. Snowflake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Snowflake took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Show Low 8-7.
Curtis Hollom looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Skip Bawden was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Xavier Reidhead was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Alchesay earned a 9-5 win over Miami on Monday.
Japeth Henry was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Reuben Cosay, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Snowflake's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Alchesay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Snowflake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Alchesay struggles in that department as they've averaged .379. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Snowflake's way against Alchesay when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Snowflake made off with an 18-4 victory. Do the Lobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
