Basketball Recap: Jeannette Takes Down Union Area in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Jeannette rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 63-39 margin over the Union Area Scotties. The Jayhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 games by 20 points or more this season.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Jeannette, bringing their record for this year to 23-2. As for Union Area, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-7 record.

Coming up, Jeannette will challenge Mercyhurst Prep on March 8th. Mercyhurst Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Jeannette likes a good challenge. Union Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
