For the first time this season, Colquitt County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to face off against the Lowndes Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Lowndes will be up against a hot Colquitt County squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Packers came out on top against Rickards by a score of 31-19 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Packers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 13th in Georgia, while the Raiders are ranked 165th in Florida).

09/16/25 vs Monroe | 2 |
09/12/25 @ Lee County | 3 |
Jae Lamar had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 111 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Lowndes humbled Kell with a 38-7 victory. With the Vikings ahead 24-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Colquitt County better keep an eye on Jayce Johnson. He was instrumental in Lowndes' win, rushing for 113 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 167 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Johnson has posted since back in October of 2024. Mason Woods helped out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.
Lowndes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Lowndes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anthony Martin. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.8 total tackles per game.
Colquitt County's record is now 4-1. As for Lowndes, their record now sits at 5-0.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Lamar and Woods. Lamar just won't slow down this season and has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 104.8 rushing yards per game. Woods has been a dominant force too and has averaged 121.2 rushing yards per game.
Colquitt County came out on top in a nail-biter against Lowndes in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 38-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Packers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
