Baseball Recap: Family Christian Wins Going Away Against Calvin

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Family Christian had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Calvin Cougars as they made off with a 16-6 win. The Flames might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Trinston Williams was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Terrance Kilbourne was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Family Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Family Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-14. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Calvin, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Looking ahead, Family Christian will take on Ebarb at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Calvin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
