Bloomingdale has gone a perfect 4-0 against Sumner recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulls will square off against the Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Bloomingdale sitting on seven straight victories and Sumner on four.
If Bloomingdale beats Sumner with two runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Bulls didn't even let Tampa Catholic on the board on Thursday, marking the Bulls' second-straight 2-0 shutout.
JJ Santiago was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Meanwhile, Sumner never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Freedom. The result was nothing new for the Stingrays, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Sumner also got a great performance from ETHAN DEJESUS as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. DEJESUS has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on BRAYLON DISLA, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine games. KALOB WILLIAMS was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Sumner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bloomingdale's record is now 14-2. As for Sumner, their record now sits at 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bloomingdale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sumner struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bloomingdale was able to grind out a solid win over Sumner in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, winning 5-1. Will the Bulls repeat their success, or do the Stingrays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
