Jackson Sellers made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ben Bethel was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Peyton McGaha was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Hayesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 11.6.
Hiwassee Dam's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hayesville, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
