The Central Red Devils put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Everything went their way against Auburn as Central made off with a 41-20 victory. The result was nothing new for Central, who have now won seven contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Central was led to victory by Andrew Alford and Cam Coleman. Alford threw for 340 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt, while Coleman picked up 293 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Coleman was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 64 yards.
Despite the loss, Auburn still got an impressive performance from Henry Allen, who rushed for 154 yards, and also threw for 269 yards on 24 of 39 attempts.
Central's win was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 6-2 Enterprise and 6-3 Hewitt-Trussville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.6% over those games). As for Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Prattville the next time they take the field. Auburn will host Prattville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Central will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
