Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Saluda

While Saluda put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Pelion. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Miller Martin's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ava Martin and Kamryn Campbell did most of the damage at the plate: Ava went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Campbell went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Jayme Sheaffer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Saluda's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Pelion, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Saluda wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-0 victory against Andrew Jackson on the 16th. As for Pelion, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-5 win against Bamberg-Ehrhardt on the 11th.
