The American Fork Cavemen will square off against the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Timpanogos will be up against a hot American Fork squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. American Fork blew past Davis 16-1 on Friday. The Cavemen's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kenny Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, River Litke was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was CJ Mascaro, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
American Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .704. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Timpanogos came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Lions. That's two games straight that the Timberwolves have won by exactly 11 runs.
Timpanogos also got a great performance from Corbin Hardy as he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Carter Hall was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Collin Morgan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
American Fork's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Timpanogos, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. American Fork has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Timpanogos struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
American Fork came out on top in a nail-biter against Timpanogos when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will American Fork repeat their success, or does Timpanogos has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
