The American History Bald Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eagle Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to American History of the 49-42 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, American History still got an impressive performance from Elijah Whitney, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Woodard, who scored nine points along with two steals.
American History's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Eagle Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American History won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kearny at 10:00 a.m. on January 27th. Eagle Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Montclair Kimberley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th.
