The Cairo Pilots's road trip will continue as they head out to face Thompsonville at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Cairo suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 76-33 defeat at the hands of Frankfort. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cairo has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Cairo saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. McKenlee Pirtle, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeserick Pilgram, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Thompsonville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Frankfort 50-15.
Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Thompsonville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.
