Licking County recap September 17, 2013
Johnstown-Monroe's Nathanael Ashbrook recorded the longest rushing play in Licking County this season in his game against Lakewood last week. Ashbrook ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 80 on the day as his team bested the Lancers.
Watkins Memorial moved up to 288 from 347 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Mifflin 26-12.
Ben Shroyer put up the best numbers in passing as Watkins Memorial beat the Punchers. He had a total of 4 completions for 51 yards.
Cody Farley was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 128 yards on 15 carries as Johnstown-Monroe topped Lakewood. Teammate Josh Kirkpatrick added to the ground attack by rushing for 127 yards.
Kirkpatrick provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mike Carter's team beat the Lancers. Kirkpatrick's favorite target this week was Nogaj, who caught 2 passes for 34 yards.
Nogaj was the best receiver in Licking County this week as the Johnnies topped Lakewood.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Licking Valley takes on Northridge. As it stands, the Panthers are in fifth, while the Vikings are in third.
The Lancers lost to Johnstown-Monroe 69-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
