The Arbor View Aggies will square off against the Coronado Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Arbor View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Liberty, who was ranked 12th at the time (Arbor View was ranked 11th). The Aggies put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 12-2 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Aggies needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Ava Henderson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Audrey Melton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Peyton Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Arbor View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Coronado had just enough and edged out Doral Academy Red Rock 5-3 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly two runs.
Aubrie Sisler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophie Bendlin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Chase Magdaleno was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
Arbor View pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Arbor View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Coronado struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Arbor View might still be hurting after the 18-7 defeat they got from Coronado in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Aggies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
