The Osceola Warriors will head out to face off against the Seminole Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Osceola had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Clearwater Central Catholic on Thursday. Osceola was the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Clearwater Central Catholic. Considering the Warriors have won four contests by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Theresa Diez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Diez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Osceola got a massive performance out of Jenna Neupaver, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Neupaver also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Angelina Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Osceola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Seminole suffered their closest defeat since April 11, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Dunedin by a score of 3-1.
Kailynn Emener was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Seminole saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Beardsley, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Osceola's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.5 runs. As for Seminole, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Seminole's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Osceola hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .428. It's a different story for Seminole, though, as they've only averaged .210. Will they be able to contain Osceola's hitters?
Osceola took their victory against Seminole in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osceola since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
