The Grafton Clippers will head out on the road to face off against the York Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. York took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Grafton, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Grafton got themselves on the board against Jamestown, but Jamestown never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 62-0 victory over the Eagles at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grafton.
Luke Bryant went supernova for Grafton, throwing for 285 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt. Owen Seaford also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, York fell victim to Lafayette's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Rams on the road and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Lafayette is ranked 49th).
Grafton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Grafton came up short against York in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, falling 17-10. Can Grafton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
