Newark Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Edison Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Wednesday, Newark Valley suffered a rough 70-47 loss at the hands of Charles O. Dickerson. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Newark Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Edison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 52-27 defeat to Jasper-Troupsburg might stick with them for a while.
Newark Valley now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Edison, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Newark Valley against Edison in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 79-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newark Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
