The Blazer Tomcats kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 80-70 to Harlan County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Blazer still got an impressive performance from Zander Carter, who scored 39 points along with 7 rebounds. Braxton Jennings was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Blazer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Harlan County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blazer will take on Magoffin County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harlan County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Letcher County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
