The St. Andrew's Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 28-17 to Pinewood Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Andrew's has scored all season.
Gray Holmes was St. Andrew's leading scorer, having posted five points. Holmes also led the team in rebounds with six.
Maren Wrieden took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
St. Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Pinewood Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's will square off against Frederica Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frederica Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Andrew's in Georgia (Frederica Academy is ranked 170th, while St. Andrew's is ranked 454th). Pinewood Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Edmund Burke Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Edmund Burke Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Thursday.
