The Richmond Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Leesville Road Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Richmond's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over Scotland.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Domonic Tillman, who threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. JV Drake was another key contributor, picking up 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Leesville Road's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 33-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardinal Gibbons.
Lyfe Shaw-stephens put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 95 yards, and also threw for 25 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Roan Naik did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals.
Richmond's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Leesville Road, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Richmond came up short against Leesville Road when the teams last played back in November of 2021, falling 19-14. Can Richmond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
