The Suffield Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Windsor Locks Raiders at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Suffield ended up a good deal behind Ellington and lost 58-41. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Suffield in their matchups with Ellington: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Windsor Locks had already won six in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They managed a 67-62 victory over Wethersfield. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windsor Locks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Grasso, who scored 25 points along with four steals. The match was Grasso's third in a row with at least ten points. Sincere Monroe was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
Suffield's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1. As for Windsor Locks, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Suffield didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Windsor Locks when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Windsor Locks' Malike Alassani, who scored 23 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Suffield to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
