The Deerfield Academy Big Green will head out on the road to face off against the Belmont Hill Sextants at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Deerfield Academy is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Saturday, Deerfield Academy had to suffer through a rough 44-14 loss at the hands of Choate Rosemary Hall School. While losing is never fun, Deerfield Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 28th in Massachusetts, while Choate Rosemary Hall School is ranked first in Connecticut).
Meanwhile, Belmont Hill came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Governor's Academy with a sharp 41-21 win. Considering Belmont Hill has won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Marcus Griffin was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Griffin was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Belmont Hill also got help from Nick Andersen who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.
Choate Rosemary Hall School's win bumped their season record to 8-0 while Deerfield Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
