Volleyball Recap: Okawville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Okawville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinckneyville Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

While Okawville had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21.

Brecklyn Rennegarbe paced Okawville's offense, picking up five kills. Rennegarbe got some help from Kenley Hackstadt and her 13 assists. Rennegarbe was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Okawville's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Pinckneyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Okawville is taking a road trip to take on Chester at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pinckneyville, they will head out to face off against Freeburg at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
