The Van Vandals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 12-1 walloping at the hands of Athens. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Van in their matchups with Athens: they've now lost five in a row.
Van has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Athens, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van will take on Brownsboro at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Van's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Athens, they will be playing at home against Bullard at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
