One thing working in Victory Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Even though Southview Christian scored an imposing 76 points back in December of 2023, Victory Christian Academy still came out on top. Victory Christian Academy took their matchup against Southview Christian 84-76. Given Victory Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Southview Christian is ranked 539th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Victory Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Thompson, who scored 31 points. Thompson is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lloyd Hampton, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, New Manna Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-46 walloping at the hands of Union Grove Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Manna Christian has scored all season.
Victory Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for New Manna Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
