Mount View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as River View apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.
Mount View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jawuan Jackson, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Jackson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Zymir Martin, who scored 15 points.
River View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Danielson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Ethan Justice was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Mount View now has a losing record at 2-3. As for River View, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Mount View will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on River View at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. River View will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hurley at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hurley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 430th in Virginia, while River View is ranked 59th in West Virginia).
