On Wednesday, the Anacostia Indians faced the Dunbar Crimson Tide in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Anacostia fell 51-38 to Dunbar. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Anacostia in their matchups with Dunbar: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Anacostia saw an underclassman step up: Nayjah Duvall scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Shayonna Nave, who scored nine points.
Anacostia's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Dunbar, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anacostia will square off against Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dunbar, they will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Carroll at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
