If the Parker Thundering Herd were riding high off their 74-51 takedown of the Fultondale Wildcats on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Parker took a 53-37 bruising from Pinson Valley on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Parker has scored all season.
Pinson Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clyde Walters, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Austin Coner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and five steals.
Parker's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Pinson Valley, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
Parker will take on Jackson-Olin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson-Olin has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 7. Pinson Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Clay-Chalkville at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Clay-Chalkville is ranked 30th, while Pinson Valley is ranked 28th).
